Hormone Injectable Therapies

We can compound various injectable hormone preparations including testosterone (cypionate, enanthate, propionate), estradiol (valerate, cypionate), progesterone in oil, HCG, and certain peptide hormones. We can customize concentrations, carrier oils, and preservative content based on patient-specific needs. All injectable hormones are prepared in our sterile compounding facility following USP <797> guidelines.

We maintain rigorous sterility protocols including: preparation in ISO-classified clean rooms with HEPA filtration; regular environmental monitoring; use of aseptic technique by certified staff; sterility and endotoxin testing when appropriate; strict beyond-use dating based on stability data; and comprehensive documentation of all compounding processes. Our facility undergoes regular certification and inspection to ensure compliance with all sterile compounding standards.

Compounded injectable hormones offer several advantages: customized concentrations for precise dosing; alternative carrier oils for patients with sensitivities; preservative-free options when clinically indicated; combination formulations that may improve compliance; and availability during commercial product shortages. Additionally, we can prepare formulations that aren’t commercially available or create specialized dosages for unique patient needs.

For optimal preparation, we need: complete patient information; detailed prescription specifications (hormone type, concentration, carrier oil preferences); relevant allergies or sensitivities; quantity and directions for use; and any specific requirements regarding preservatives or other components. For complex cases, information about the patient’s condition and treatment goals can help us recommend appropriate formulation options.

Storage requirements depend on the specific formulation, but most injectable hormones should be stored at controlled room temperature (20-25°C or 68-77°F) and protected from light. Some preparations may require refrigeration. We provide clear storage instructions with every prescription and can discuss specific stability considerations for various formulations. Patients should be advised never to use a preparation that appears cloudy, discolored, or contains particles.

Beyond-use dating for injectable hormones varies based on several factors including the specific hormone, concentration, carrier oil, preservative content, and storage conditions. Typically, preservative-containing injections prepared according to USP <797> guidelines may have beyond-use dates up to 28-45 days when stored properly. Preservative-free preparations generally have shorter dating. We determine appropriate beyond-use dates based on stability data and USP guidelines for each specific formulation.
